One-Stops
About One-Stop Career Centers
Illinois has 44 comprehensive One-Stop Career Centers and 55 affiliates. Most One-Stop Career
Centers are located in Illinois Employment and Training Centers; however, a few are on the
campuses of community colleges. Illinois One-Stop Career Centers are designed with customer
choice as a guiding principle. Each One-Stop provides easier access to the services listed in
this brochure by creating a single point of entry. One-Stop Centers are mandated as part of
the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. A business-led Board of Directors enables One-Stop
Centers to supply communities with the types of skilled workers needed in their areas.
